So you have heard of Delta-10 THC and want to know more. It seems like a new type of cannabis product is on the market every day! So what is Delta 10 THC? Like CBD (cannabidiol), Delta-10 THC is a cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant. Cannabinoids are the active part of cannabis and provide the effects and benefits.

Cannabis is a species of plant that refers to both marijuana and hemp. Hemp has high levels of CBD and does not produce any psychoactive effects (the feeling of being “high”). Marijuana contains higher levels of Delta-9 THC and this produces the feeling of being high. Legally, hemp must contain less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC.

What is Delta 10 THC Exactly? How is Delta-10 THC Different from Delta-8 and Delta-9 THC?

Things can be a bit confusing with all the types of cannabinoids out there. CBD, Delta-9 THC, Delta-8 THC, CBG, Delta-10 THC and over 100 more cannabinoids make up the cannabis plant.

Chemically, Delta-10 THC is different from Delta-8 and Delta-9 THC by the placement of a double bond. In terms of their effects, there is still a lot of research that needs to be done. User testimony reveals that Delta-10, like Delta-8 THC, will produce a feeling of being “high”, although about ¼ – ½ has potent as Delta-9 THC.So if you were wondering, “Will Delta-10 THC get me high” . . . Yes it does, but more mildly.1

It has been stated amongst the cannabis community that Delta-10 THC has more cerebral effects, similar to the head high of a sativa marijuana strain. Some call it a euphoric high, without any paranoia. This may be helpful to elevate energy, creativity, focus, and alertness.

Is Delta-10 THC Legal?

Like CBD, Delta-10 THC can be found in both hemp and marijuana. Delta-10 THC extracted from hemp is federally legal via the Farm Bill (2018). Delta-10 extracted from marijuana is still federally illegal. Delta-10 THC products, derived from hemp, must contain less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC.

This may vary state-to-state. Here is a quick list of the states where Delta-10 THC products are illegal, even if extracted from hemp: Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Idaho, Iowa, Mississippi, Montana, Rhode Island, and Utah.

Will I Fail a Drug Test Using Delta-10 THC Products?

The quick answer is: Yes. Delta-10 is not distinguishable from Delta-9 THC (the illegal one) in a urinalysis. So don’t press your luck.

Where to Find High-Quality Delta-10 THC Products

Just as with any cannabis product, it is best to do a bit of research to find a company you trust with products that benefit you. First of all, check for up-to-date lab test results that verify the levels of Delta-10 THC are what is advertised. Also check that the levels of Delta-9 THC are below the legal limit of 0.3%. If you have any questions or concerns, a company representative should be able to provide you with a knowledgeable response.

How Much Delta-10 THC Should I Take?

How Delta-10 affects the body still needs much more research to be certain. Right now, the thinking is that it behaves similarly to Delta-9 THC, interacting directly with the cannabinoid receptors of the Endocannabinoid System. User reports suggest Delta-10 is similar to Delta-8 THC in terms of potency.

As we mentioned, this may be about ¼ – ½ as potent as the high Delta-9 THC produced when using marijuana. It is suggested you start with a low dose, and then wait about 4-6 hours before taking more. Dosing is unique to everyone and it may take some time to find what works best for you. Factors the affect dosing include, but are not limited to: weight, severity of pain/anxiety/restlessness, age, and metabolism.
